May 31, 2011 – Crufts and The Kennel Club Set To Enter Publishing Sector With Bright And Beyond

May 31, 2011

LONDON - Bright and Beyond is set to represent two of the UK’s most prestigious brands – Crufts and the Kennel Club – in the world of publishing after signing an agreement with licensing agent 4sight licensing solutions.

The Kennel Club holds the broadest remit to protect and promote the general wellbeing of dogs. At its heart are programmes and investments in education and health initiatives to ensure that dogs are healthy, happy and long-lived. Crufts, the world’s most famous dog show, is organised and hosted by the Kennel Club and is attended by over 138,000 dog lovers from the UK and overseas who come together to experience the competitions and events that celebrate the diverse role dogs play in society and learn how to best to buy, train and care for their dogs.

Both brands are developing an increasingly strong presence in the UK licensing market and 4sight has identified publishing as a key sector for expansion. The new deal covers Crufts worldwide and the Kennel Club in the UK and relates to fiction and nonfiction for 16 year olds and younger.

Bright and Beyond has a considerable pedigree in publishing, having grown out of the success of the Bright Agency – a leading illustration agency in children’s publishing that works with big-name clients such as Usborne, Random House and Harrods – and has successfully extended brands such as London Zoo and Hallmark’s Country Companions into the publishing sector.

“We are delighted to be taking Crufts and the Kennel Club into the field of publishing,” says Bright and Beyond MD Vicki Willden-Lebrecht, “dogs are an incredibly important part of many kid’s lives, so both these brands have significant potential in the children’s books sector and we expect considerable interest from publishers.”
